If you’d like to spend a stylish getaway by the sea with your four-legged friend, you’ll find the perfect setting here for relaxing days between the beach, the promenade, and the Baltic Sea air. Our Dependance combines upscale hospitality with a dog-friendly atmosphere. At the same time, it’s important to us that all guests feel comfortable here—dog owners as well as guests without dogs. That’s why we focus on a warm, welcoming culture and a few clear rules to ensure a relaxed experience for everyone.

Perfect for walks on the beach and along the Baltic Sea
Travemünde is perfect for a vacation with your dog. Right around the Dependance, the promenade, coastal paths, and fresh sea air invite you to take walks together. The paths leading toward the Brodten cliffs and the attractions along the Baltic Sea are especially beautiful.
Two popular destinations for guests with dogs are:
- Travemünde Dog Beach: A natural stretch of beach on the Brodten cliffs behind the former Mövenstein seaside resort. The beach consists mainly of pebbles and stones and features a special swimming pier for dogs. It is approximately 1.3 km from the Dependance.
- Priwall Dog Beach: A fine-sand dog beach on the Priwall, right behind the passenger ferry. It’s easily accessible from Travemünde, for example via the passenger ferry at the pilot tower. It’s about 1.5 km from the Dependance.
Important to know: Dogs are not allowed on the main beach from April 1 through October 31. That’s exactly why the designated dog beaches and the beautiful trails along the coast are the perfect alternative for many of our guests.
A Relaxing Vacation with Your Dog
We want to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Therefore, we ask that dogs relax in the dog bed provided after a walk and during quiet hours, and that they do not get on sofas, armchairs, or beds.
If your dog is left alone in the room at any time, we recommend hanging the “Dog in Room” sign—which is also provided for your stay with your dog—on the door. This will help avoid unnecessary disturbances for your dog and our housekeeping staff.
The following also applies throughout the Dependance grounds: Dogs must be kept on a leash and should not disturb other guests. This consideration plays a key role in ensuring that a stay with a dog remains relaxing for everyone.
Dining Out with Your Dog
Your dog is welcome to accompany you into the restaurant area under your supervision and stay at or under the tables, provided that other guests and our service team are not disturbed. For hygiene reasons, however, dogs are not allowed in the breakfast buffet area.
Many guests deliberately choose to let their dogs rest in their rooms, especially in the morning or at dinner—this is often the most relaxing solution for everyone involved. This ensures that your visit to the restaurant remains peaceful and pleasant, and your dog can relax in the room after a day spent enjoying the Baltic Sea air.
Should any disturbances occur in the restaurant area, we reserve the right to ask for your understanding and consideration in the interest of all guests.
What You Should Know Before Your Stay
To ensure that the vacation is enjoyable for both people and dogs, we have a few simple and easy-to-understand rules:
- A dog costs 29 EUR per day.
- Upon arrival, dogs receive a treat, a dog bed, and two dog bowls.
- Dogs are not allowed in the spa area or the swimming pool.
- Dogs must be kept on a leash on the Dependance grounds.
- Dogs should not disturb other guests and should not relieve themselves on the Dependance grounds.
